Memorial Park is one of our favorite places in Houston to spend the day outdoors. Between the picnic spots, volleyball and tennis courts, 3 mile loop, hiking trails and golf activities, there’s something for everyone!
At some point in the day, hunger (and thirst!) strikes, and you want to find a spot to chill out and keep the good vibes going.
We’ve compiled a few spots that are close by and have a great atmosphere (with dog-friendly outdoor space) to round out your day at the park.
Memorial Trail Icehouse
We have to start with the park’s namesake and a new spot you are going to be hearing a lot of as the weather gets nice this year!
Memorial Trail Icehouse has an expansive patio, great drink specials and a solid food truck line up (don’t sleep on their ‘Fajitas & Ritas’ with El Tiempo every Wednesday).
If you are feeling philanthropic, there is a ‘bee someone’ cocktail on the menu that donates $1 to the Memorial Park Conservancy every time it is ordered!
Canyon Creek
Pacific Coast Tacos
Pacific Coast Tacos is a family owned operation with a flagship location in Sugar Land – we were so excited to see them pop up right by Memorial Park!
Solid indoor-outdoor vibes with great drinks (available to-go in cute sippable bottles!) and fresh, healthy menu options make this spot totally necessary as part of your Memorial Park itinerary.
Grab some breakfast tacos on your way to the park or post up afterwards for a drink and some ahi nachos. You won’t be disappointed!
Union Kitchen Washington
Union Kitchen has a few locations featuring variations in menus and specials, but the Washington location is perfect for planning brunch around a visit to Memorial.
They have all sorts of healthy options, or you could go the other way and have dessert for breakfast with a pancake board (complete with mini donuts and muffins – you deserve it after a walk in the park!).
Down the Street
This appropriately named spot is right *down the street* from the park and a must-visit for anyone wanting that casual neighborhood bar atmosphere (with food and drink specials every day of the week). They even have a Party Room that you can book if you’re coming with a crowd!
We love their sangria and $6 margs on Wednesdays!
One thing to note – they are cashless, so plan accordingly.
